Flower Cafe by Takashi Murakami
A cafe featuring OHANA ( flowers), a noted work by artist Takashi Murakami, is appearing at Roppongi Hills between December 28th, 2015 and January 31st, 2016.
At the cafe, in addition to the displays of OHANA, the Roku Roku Seijin (ロクロク星人) a series of characters designed by Murakami for Roppongi Hills can be seen.
The cafe serves menu items features OHANA, such as Ohana Latte, Ohana burger, and Ohana Omu Rice. The smiles of the flowers are infectious, and the vibrant colors of the flowers and the smiles are a real pick-me-up. The cafe definitely makes people happy. The customers at the cafe were fascinated looking at the displays and the flowers in their drinks and food.
Murakami is known for his pop art, however he is also quite adept at traditional Japanese paintings. The 500 Arhats exhibition, showcasing Murakami’s traditional Japanese paintings, will be held on the 53rd floor of Roppongi Hills until March 6th, 2016. This is Murakami’s first exhibition in Japan in 14 years.
