Hillary Clinton Does Not Support TPP
In an interview on PBS’s NewsHour on October 7, Hillary Clinton said that she does not support the TPP based on the current facts about the deal. This contrasts with her stance as Secretary of State. She stated that she claimed that the United States needed to have a trade agreement in order to boost US employment, raise wages and strengthen security, but that the TPP negotiations did not adequately address these three crucial issues. She also stated that the TPP did not reach the high standard that she thinks that it needed to meet. Trump tweeted that “TPP is a terrible deal.” Sanders criticized the TPP as well.
