Human Chain Protest Against the Right to Collective Self Defense

Human Chain Protest

On January 17th, Peace of Women spearheaded a demonstration in front of the Diet building. Approximately 7000 people wearing red in protest created a human chain encircling the Diet building.  Participants in the protest argued that if Japan were to wage war in a foreign country, Japan could be a target of terrorism, and their children and husbands could be sent to the battlefield. They also claimed that they do not want to kill anybody or they do not want to be killed.
