After eating at La Brasserie at the French Institute, I returned to Iidabashi station to explore the Kagurazaka district. Kagurazaka is close to Iidabashi, and has a long history. When visiting Tokyo, I like discovering temples and shrines, and admiring the traditional Japanese architecture. In Kagurazaka is the Buddhist temple Zenkokuji, which is dedicated to the divinity Bishamonten. The temple is approximately 400 years old.
Japanese temples include some activities for visitors to experience, one of them being to have their fortune told through Omikuji. I was lucky because I drew a good fortune: Daikichi 大吉.
The kanji 大 (Dai) means big and 吉 (kichi) good fortune.
On the front of an Omikuji prediction is Japanese text, however on the back you can read an English translation. I hope my fortune will come true.
