Chihayafuru

Chihaya, was sixth grader in Fuchu City, Tokyo. Her only dream was to help her older sister, Chitose become the most successful model in Japan. However, this all changes when she meets Arata, a new transfer student in her school. Through him Chihaya learns of the Hyakunin Isshu Competition, and develops a love of karuta. In the following volumes, the story picks up in high school after a time jump, with Chihaya still striving to be the best karuta player in Japan.

30 volumes of the comic have been published so far. Two live action films based on the comic are due to be released on March 19th and April 29th this year.
