Christmas Food In Japan
At Christmas time in Japan, it is common for people to eat Christmas Cake and roast chicken.
The most common Christmas cake is short cake, however there are many kinds of Christmas cakes sold in markets. Since turkey is not common in Japan, chicken is a common alternative. Foreigners who want to have turkey usually get frozen turkey at grocery stores specializing in imported food.
There are people who roast chicken by themselves, however it is more common to purchase pre-roasted chicken at the grocery store. It is common to buy or roast only drum sticks. In Japan, KFC’s fried chicken can be substituted for roast chicken at Christmas.
