Democratic Party of Japan’s New Poster Receives Complaints Among the Members
One of the new posters of Democratic Party of Japan, the second largest party and the biggest opposition party in Japan, is not well received among many members of the party. It is seen as too self-deprecating.
DPJ created three posters and one of them says “I don’t like DPJ, but I want to protect democracy. To such person, you don’t have to trust us right away, but please let us play a proper role as an opposition party.” DPJ designed this poster in response to a recent drop in their approval rating, and they that their humbleness may attract the attention of some voters. These posters were made for the Upper House election campaign, which will be held this summer. However, some members of the DPJ feel as if the poster is very negative and they are not comfortable campaigning with this poster.
