Difference Between Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea

One of the main differences between Tokyo Disneyland, and Tokyo Disney Sea, is that Disneyland does not offer alcoholic drinks, while Tokyo Disney Sea does.

Five areas at Tokyo Disney Sea: Mediterranean Harbor, American Water Front, Mysterious Islands, Lost River Delta, and Port Discovery, have restaurants which serve alcoholic beverages. Two other areas at Disney Sea: the Arabian Coast, and Mermaid Lagoon, do not have restaurants that serve alcohol.

Most casual restaurants at Disney Sea offer beer and cocktails in plastic cups, while formal restaurants serve wine and beer. In addition to these restaurants, there is a food wagon called “Barnacle Bills” in the American Waterfront that sells beer, and there are lounges, such as the Teddy Roosevelt Lounge in the American Waterfront, or Magellan’s Lounge in Mediterranean Harbor, which offer a variety of alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Magellan’s Lounge is on the second floor of Magellan’s, which is a restaurant located in the fortress at Mediterranean Harbor. From the second floor, you can look down at a rotating globe in the restaurant below which is four centimeters in diameter, and takes 30 minutes to complete a single rotation. Magellan’s Lounge has a bar counter with bottles of alcohol, and a bartender with a shaker who mixes up cocktails for you. They serve non-alcoholic drinks as well.

Magellan’s Lounge

This drink is a non-alcoholic beverage served at Magellan’s which includes the glass.

This contrasts with Tokyo Disneyland, where the closest thing to alcohol you can find is the non-alcoholic beer which some restaurants serve. That is, unless you are able to dine at a secret restaurant there called Club 33. This restaurant serves alcohol, but only people such as official sponsors, or holders of the platinum JCB credit card are allowed to dine there once a year.
