Keidanren Will Not Pressure on Corporations Says Chairman

In the regular press conference on July 6, the chairman of Keidanren, Sadayuki Sakakibara, said that it is up to individual corporations to decide whether they will pay for advertisements in the media outlets. He added that the Liberal Democratic Party had not asked Keidanren to put pressure on corporations, and Keidanren will not exert pressure on corporations about their advertisements.

Keidanren is a Japanese business federation, and most of major Japanese corporations are members. Keidanren is very influential in Japanese industry and in the Japanese economy.
