Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Drinks by Starbucks

Between February 15th and March 15th, Starbucks Japan is offering the Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Frappuccino and Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Latte. Sakura is a Japanese word meaning cherry blossom, and Starbucks sells sakura flavored drinks during spring time to show respect for Japanese culture. Every year the flavor changes a little, for example, last year’s Sakura beverage was the Sakura Caramelly Chocolate Latte which featured shaved white chocolate and caramel sauce in addition to the cherry blossom flavor.

This year’s Sakura beverage includes strawberry shaved chocolate and strawberry sauce.

The pinkish chocolate shavings on the top of the drink evokes the petals of the cherry blossom. Having these drinks is a nice way to enjoy the cherry blossoms a little earlier than the real thing.

(The real cherry blossoms begin to bloom in March and April)
